Frontier Airlines Baggage Policy
have you wondered what Frontier Airlines is and why they’re able to offer such cheap flights compared to their competitors well in this video I’ll answer some of those questions and give three pros and cons to flying with them? Frontier Airlines is and how it differs from some of the major airlines that you’re more familiar with.
Frontier Airlines is a budget airline I like to call them air buses because what they seem to do is that the same flights at the same time every day just like a bus for example let’s say they have a flight from Denver to Tampa at 6 p.m.
They’ll have that same flight at 6 p.m. every day just like a bus schedule and one of the reasons why they’re able to offer such low prices is because their bare minimum airline and a charge for amenities airline.
So if you want to pick your seat you got to pay and you’re only allowed a personal item so if you’re going to bring even a carry-on you have to pay extra for that.
There’s no complimentary drinks or food on the plane you have to pay for all snacks and all beverages except for water.
I’ll start with three pros and the obvious first and most important is the price I’ve honestly never seen prices as low as I’ve seen them with frontier anywhere else ever before they truly are beginning to revolutionize the travel industry within the United States.
There’s other airlines have tried to do something similar to this namely spirit or some other budget type airlines but no one’s really been able to figure it out well. Frontier has and they’re taking off with it and 2018 they’ve already built multiple new hubs in many major cities with major airports and they plan to continue that growth that only means more ultra low prices will be coming soon.
The second Pro is direct flights most of the flights that I’ve seen with in taken with Frontier Airlines have been direct flights and that’s just amazing and I’m not a layover hater. I’ve actually been known to take the longest labor possible at times in order to leave the airport and go explore my layover city but it goes without saying it’s just so nice to be able to get off that plane and be at your final destination with just one flight.
The third Pro is their Den Club membership program I’ve really grown to enjoy what they call their den Club membership it’s an annual 50 dollar membership that will likely pay for itself in the very first flight and if not then I guarantee it’ll pay for itself by the second flight I was able to save $80 my first flight with it so essentially.
I got the memberships for free and still save $30 on the flight it’s a no-brainer and you can also get the membership price for anyone flying with you as long as a person with the membership is one of the people flying and the one checking out all the other passengers will get the discount even if they don’t have a membership.
Now for the cons the first con is baggage a lot of travelers will have a real issue with this one because even a checked bag will cost you extra.
If you pay for baggage the price is no longer ultra low if you’re someone who always checks a bag then this may not even faze you because their check bag prices are actually really affordable and accommodating but if you’re like me and want to squeeze every bit of savings out of this then you’re gonna have to learn just like I did.
How to travel light so you’re allowed one personal item and they consider this to be any bag that you can fit underneath the seat in front of you.
I’ve become very good at packing just a backpack as my personal item and it works great I have a nice adidas backpack that works well for now but for someone with a nicer backpack let’s say a 50 liter or less.
Osprey backpack or a travel specific backpack this will be even easier second con are the seats so I may not have an issue with this and for the majority of the flights that I’ve taken with frontier I haven’t had one either probably because I’m so happy with all the money I’m saving but there have been an occasional few flights.
Specifically the red eyes that the seats have been a real pain in the butt literally the seats aren’t cushioned they don’t recline at all and I’m not sure about this but I guess that you’re sitting a lot closer to the seat in front of you than the average airline.
This is all part of how they keep their prices so low by not adding those little extra luxuries that we’ve come to expect and by creating as many seats possible on the plane. They’re able to offer much cheaper prices granted there are seats toward the front that are more luxury seats that are gonna be cushion more legroom recline and such but again that’s gonna cost you extra.
The third con are the amenities I’ll close out with kind of a piggyback off of the seats because the manatees altogether have been stripped down so there are no plugs to use to charge your devices with.
There’s no complimentary drinks or snacks no provided screens with movies on them and there’s no Wi-Fi availability it’s a bare minimum fight for a bare minimum price so to review. If you’re able to learn how to pack light and give up some of those amenities you won’t regret it with all the money you save.
Conclusion:
Book your flight with Frontier airlines if you are on very tight budget and don’t want to spend on extra perks like baggage and snacks. Its very low cost carrier airline and can save you money. But its for those who want to travel with very less baggage and cheap flight ticket.
